Samsung Galaxy S21 series launched: all that you need to know

Samsung has unveiled its 2021 Galaxy S21 series smartphones including the Galaxy S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra. The Galaxy S21 series phones come with a new 5G support chipset and a range of new features. India will be among the first countries where new phones for the Galaxy S21 series are available. Here are all the details you need to know before you buy.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is a high-end version while the S21 and S21 + are similar

The Green S21 Ultra is a high-end model in the S21 series offering all the software and quad camera features as well as S-Pen pen support. The other two phones – S21 and S21 + – are very different in screen and battery size. Also, these two phones have triple camera settings and no S-Pen support.

All three phones of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series use the same Exynos chip

The phones of the new Galaxy S21 series are powered by the latest Exnos 2100 5G SoC based on 5nm, which is said to be faster, more efficient and better at temperature control. Samsung says 20% better CPU performance, 35% GPU performance and AI 22 better performance.

Samsung has unveiled a new design for the Galaxy S21 series

The Galaxy S21 series features a new rear panel construction. While the S21 Ultra is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus front and rear, the S21 and S21 + have polycarbonate rear panels that look like glass.

Phones for the Samsung Galaxy S21 series will be available in six colors

Phones of the Galaxy S21 series will be available in six colors – Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, Phantom Violet, Phantom White, Phantom Gray and Phantom Pink.

The S21 Ultra has a quad camera setup with 12MP Dual Pixel A / F Ultra wide, Phase Detection A / F F1.8 width and two 10MP telephoto lenses each with 3X and 10X optical zoom respectively. There is also the facility of 100X digital zoom and laser auto focus. Samsung has introduced a new Zoom lock feature that stabilizes images when using high-resolution zoom for better clarity.

The S21 Ultra allows the users to record 8K videos at 24FPS. Also, you can shoot in 4K at 60fps in all lenses including front and rear lenses. There is a 12-bit RAW file option as well.

You can open the car doors of certain models using the Galaxy S21 Ultra

With the power of Ultra-wideband (UWB) you will be able to use your Galaxy S21 Ultra to open the corresponding car doors without removing your keys. This feature is available in limited cars from Audi, BMW, Ford and Genesis.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra supports S-Pen pen, but you’ll have to buy it

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra borrows S-Pen support from the Galaxy Note series. It is the only phone to offer S-Pen recording compatibility without the Galaxy Note series calls. But before your expectations are high, understand that Samsung does not offer an S-Pen pen outside the box and there is no slot on it on the phone, as on Galaxy Note devices, where you plug it in and forget.

Samsung does not provide charging, earphones and MicroSD card support for Galaxy S21 series phones

Samsung has announced that there will be no free earphones or charging adapters inside the box of any Galaxy S21 phones. Samsung has now also removed the MicroSD card slide from the Galaxy S21 series.

Pre-booking of the Galaxy S21 series begins January 15. Delivery from January 25th

Interested buyers can book in advance the Galaxy S21 Series calls starting January 15. Pre-packaged buyers will begin receiving delivery on January 25, while the Galaxy S21 Series is still on sale in India on January 29th.

To attract first-time buyers, Samsung offers a free gift where all pre-booked buyers can get a Galaxy Watch Active 2 or a combo of Galaxy Buds + and Travel Adapter with their favorite device. In addition, buyers can also receive HDFC Bank refunds of up to Rs 10,000 or have the option of receiving an Upgrade Bonus of up-to Rs 5,000.

Samsung is offering a Rs 10,000 rebate for the Galaxy S21 Ultra. S21 + and S21 will pick up a refund of Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.
