Phil’s in the kitchen with TikToks latest food trend – Pasta cake! As the recipe becomes the latest TikTok meal to spread, Phil Vickery is in the kitchen with his twisting dish – and it really comforts you with a delicious meal.
2 tbsp olive oil
Peeled and chopped onions
Two small edible sticks with edible branches, carved
1 small carrot, peeled and finely chopped
Two cloves of garlic, peeled and chopped
Sprinkle with dried oregano
450g minced beef
2-3 tbsp flour
1 tbsp tomato puree
1 x 400g can extract tomatoes from juice
Salt and fresh black pepper
1 stock beef
Mill buffalo mozzarella 250g
600g rigatoni pasta, blanched for two minutes
Freshly ground basil and parsley
1. Heat olive oil and add onion, celery, carrot, garlic and oregano and cook for 3 minutes to soften. Add the mince and chop with a wooden spoon, then flour dip the juices and mix well. Add the tomato paste, canned tomatoes, salt and pepper and cook over low heat for a few minutes. Finally add the stock cube and water and bring to a simmer, then cook for 20 minutes slowly until tender and thick.
2. Oil and tin line is a 20cm x 8cm spring cake. Spoon over half of the bolognese sauce and half of the cheese. Carefully arrange the rigatoni standing on their edges and finely chopped and tucked tightly into the sauce, packing well. Spoon over all sauce and sprinkle over cheese.
3. Bake in a preheated oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
4. Remove from the oven, cool for 15 minutes to set, then sprinkle with fresh basil and parsley. Remove the outer tin and paper and wrap and serve.
