One of the trusted banks of India, – Yes Bank, on 30th November ,Wednesday said and announced about the change in it’s senior management post and on the other hand, the private sector lender said that the bank has appointed a person named Niranjan Banodkar as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of it’s group. The position will change and also affect from 1St January 2021.
The bank said in a regulatory filing that after he will be getting the position, he will be setting aside Anurag Adlakha. He was someone who has been designated as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).
Niranjan Banodkar who is appointed has an experience of 17 years in the field of Banking and in financial planning and strategy, he also has an experience in risk management and capital markets. He will be at present responsible for driving the sustainability agenda, not only that but he will be also responsible for making the strategy and planning function at the bank. Banodkar started working with the Yes Bank in the month of April in the year 2006. The bank said that at that time he was a key member for setting up the Market Risk function.
He was the head of the market risk and so he was also responsible for setting up the policies, the procedures and also to set the limits for the prudent risk that are there across the Financial Markets business of the bank. They added saying that He was also one of the active member of the ALCO, Investment Committee. He also was involved himself in various Basel implementation initiatives.
The bank said that since the past 16 years, as being the head of the financial and investor strategy, Bankodar has also successfully led different types of fund raising across equity and dept instruments and over different lifecycles too.
He had started his career in with Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait, After that he has also briefly worked for the risk and business solutions practice with the E&Y. He is a Chartered Accountant and he has also cleared the FRM (which is known as the GARP) exam.
Prashant Kumar who is the MD and CEO of Yes Bank said that the human resources of the bank are the most valuable assets for it and as they look forward to further strengthen their People related policies and the practices, he said that he is pleased that Anurag Adlakha will now be leading this transformation at YES Bank.
He said that Anurag is a seasoned banker and that he has been a CXO with reputed banks for the past two decades. He also had a little view about the developments at Yes Bank that has happened over the past one year and a half. Prashant Kumar said that as a result now, Banodkar who works as the currently Head Strategy, will now take over the place as the new Group CFO.
He also added saying that Niranjan is a CA and he has an experience of 17 years and that he has always been associated with YES Bank since past 15 years. He also said that he was very closely involved with the successful FPO earlier during this year of the YES Bank. He said that his appointment is a proof of the deep talents that is available at the YES Bank and he said that he is very confident that both these appointments will be benefitting the bank for sure.
