Karan Johar said he came up with the idea of the Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives while flying to Delhi with Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, Seema Khan and Neelam Kothari. They were going to a comfort meeting for a friend’s father.
Karan Johar revealed that he came up with the idea of the Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives during a symposium with Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, Seema Khan and Neelam Kothari. While on a flight to Delhi, at work, he noticed that the four of them were ‘completely mad’ and allowed their show.
The beautiful life of Bollywood women, a reality show that aired on Netflix last year, followed the lives of four ‘Bollywood women’ – Maheep (Sanjay Kapoor’s wife), Bhavana (Chunky Panday’s wife), Seema (Sohail Khan’s wife) and Neelam (Samir Soni’s wife) . The series became a quick hit on the streaming platform and the second season is in the works.
During a good reunion of Bollywood Wives at the Clubhouse, hosted by Janice Sequeira, Karan explained how he came up with the idea for the show. “These four ladies are very special to me and have been for almost a year and a half. But I want to tell you, the origin of this show took place on a plane. We took a flight to Delhi, we were actually going to a consolation meeting. One of our friends lost his father in death. We were on a flight to Delhi where I saw it, and I always knew that these four women were completely insane, ”she said.
“Because we were talking about our belongings, especially like page 3 of Madhur Bhandarkar, whether Neelam had too much light on his white kurta or whether Maheep had suffered a concussion due to the attack. It was inappropriate and silly and it was so much fun that all four had to be in the system. They did something like the sound of chautha as such a big problem in what they were wearing in what was happening. And it was as if they were talking nonsense. And then when we got there, we had to play-pretend we were really sad, and when we went back, we were talking trash, ”he added.
Karan said he was always aware of the crazy personalities of Maheep, Bhavana, Seema and Neelam. “But I thought they needed to be on camera because I thought that to stop Neelam, who is a fide star and in charge of a 40-film film, the other three were virgins with the camera and I think they are natives,” she said.
