Journalist Nidhi Razdan says Harvard teaching offer was an online fraud

Nidhi Razdan said she had lodged a complaint with the Jammu and Kashmir police cyber police. “I hope the police will be able to get to the root of my attack early,” Razdan said, adding in a text that he was “disappointed” by the support he received on social media.

According to the journalist, who is known for strengthening one of the station’s leading programs, Left, Right and Center, he was offered the position of associate professor in journalism in June last year.

Former NDTV editor-in-chief, Nidhi Razdan, on Friday said he was the victim of a massive online scam that caused a journalist to resign and accept a teaching post – now defunct – at Harvard University in the United States.

According to the journalist, who is known for strengthening one of the station’s leading programs, Left, Right and Center, she was offered the position of associate professor in journalism in June last year and was due to join the Ivy League center in the semester starting in September. She was later given the impression that this was delayed, and that classes would begin in January 2021.

She wrote in a statement on Twitter that In addition to that, she has also noticed a number of administrative problems. She said that Initially she has dismissed this dilemma as part of showing the new state of the epidemic, but recently the submissions made to her have been very disturbing.

Afterwards, she said, without giving a timeline that she had contacted the university’s top officials and found out that the application was a forgery. Razdan said that the perpetrators of this attack have used deception and lies to gain access to her information and communications, and may even have access to her devices and email / social media accounts, Razdan had also worked for NDTV for 21 years.

Joshua Benton, a former journalist who founded the university’s news website, Nieman Lab, said there was no department of journalists or journalists’ specialists at Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences.

She also tweeted saying that She (Razan) seems to have had the idea of  joining the Faculty of Arts and Sciences which is known as the FAS, and also the one which is a major institution from the Harvard College and Graduate School. She tweeted saying that FAS definitely does not have a professor of journalism or a degree in journalism.

Until it was the time of printing, there was no official response as such from the Harvard University. Phishing scams involves the use of various kinds of fake emails and also different fake websites that targets and aims to get and extract their personal information from the people.
