Joe Biden blames Trump for the slow vaccine rollout

The new President-elect Joe Biden criticised on 29th December, Tuesday for the slow roll-out of the COVID – 19 vaccine that was done by the administration of the President Donald Trump. Joe said that the plan was falling and was going far behind than where it needs to be.

He said that as he had long feared and warned, the efforts that are taken to distribute the vaccine is not progressing as it should have been. He said that if the distribution of the vaccine continues to move as it is going now, then it is going to take years and not months to vaccinate all the Americans.

Joe also listed his plans about the speed for the massive vaccination project. He told that this project will be one of the biggest operational challenges that have been taken place in decades.

Biden also said that he would call on for the Defense Production Act soon after he takes the authority and the office to help speed up the vaccine production and he also again repeated his vow that he will distribute 100 million doses of the vaccine in the first 100 days of him in the office, and that means that he will give out 1 million shots every day.

According to a nationwide tally that was done by the US centres for Disease control and prevention, after the process that began on 14th December, around more than 2 million of vaccine doses were given in the US. This is a lot less than as promised by the administration of Trump saying that they will give out around 20 million vaccine by the end of this year.

He said that he is going to move heaven and earth to get them going in the right direction. He also said that Biden-Harris administration will not miss out any effort to make sure that all the people are vaccinated.

After getting a briefing from his coronavirus advisory team, he spoke all this. Among other important steps he said that there was also a massive education campaign to increase the trust in the vaccines and to bring awareness about the vaccine among the people.

Earlier on 29th December, Tuesday The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who is Anthony Fauci, said that he is concerned that the virus levels in the month of January in US can get worse than it is now in December. This is because many of the had Americans travelled for the holidays during the Christmas and New Year.

Faucci said that they certainly are not at the numbers that they wanted to be by the end of December. He said that even if they undercount a number of 2 million as an undercount, he asked that how much undercount could that be? And so he said that they were below than where they wanted to be.

Earlier during this month the army general who are running the US vaccine-distribution effort said that a lag between when the shots are produced and the time when they are cleared for its shipping led to the widespread confusion that was happening that over how many doses states will receive.

The new Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on 29th December went and visited to the low-income, largely African-American part of the District of Columbia to get her vaccine. As this was a part of the effort of the incoming administration to boost the trust for the vaccine shots.

Harris told the reporters and said that she trusts the scientists. She also asked and urged everyone to get vaccinated when it is their turn. She said that she chose that medical center and had the vaccine over there so that the people living in the minority communities can know that they could get the vaccine from the people who worked in the hospital where their children were born, or just from  a place where an elderly relative got their medical treatment.
