India registered their first victory ever in Manucca OVAL, Canberra. Previously they had played 2 matches here and lost both.
The visitors defeated the Aussies in the last match of 3 match ODI series by 13 runs. Here INDIA won the toss and elected to bat first. Skipper Virat made 4 changes in the final ODI and also gave the debutant cap to the 29 year old pacer T Nataranjan.
INDIA made 302 by losing 5 wickets, thanks to the Hardik pandya- JADEJA 150 run 6th wicket partnership. While chasing the target, Australia was bowled out at 289 in 49.3 overs. The last 4 Aussie batsmen were out in just 21 runs. They already have won the series by winning the first 2 matches. Steve Smith was awarded “man of the series” award.
Hardik Pandya made an important 92 off 76 balls and JADEJA made 66 off 50 balls. Other than them, skipper Virat scored 78 of 63 balls. Aussie bowler Aston Agar took 2 wickets by giving 44 runs. Josh Hazzlewood, Adam zampa and Sean ABBott took 1 wicket each.
For Australia, captain Finch was the highest scorer. With 7 fours and 3 sixes he made 82 runs. In the absence of opener David warner, a good show in the Middle order was must for the men in yellow. But it didnot do well as the last 2 matches. Glenn Maxwell was the only the contributor with his 59 off 38 deliveries. Keeper alex carrie went into the pavilion after adding 38 runs by his side. Tale ender Aston Agar tried to put up a fight with his 28 runs .
Jasprit Bumrah & T Nataranjan took 2 wickets each for 43 & 70 respectively-INDIA
Indian bowlers put up a relatively good show. Shardul was the highest wicket taker with his 3 for 51. .
Finally with this performance , India will take heart from their victory as they head into the t20 series starting from 4th December.
