Coronavirus variant found in Singapore can be India’s 3rd wave, warns Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday warned the center of new strains of coronavirus (Covid-19) found in Singapore and said it could create India’s third wave.

The virus, Kejriwal, poses a serious threat to children and called on the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately suspend air services to Singapore and prioritize child vaccination campaigns.

“The new version of Corona coming to Singapore is said to be very dangerous for children, in India it could emerge as a third wave. I urge the central government to abolish air services in Singapore and prioritize early childhood immunization options,” said Delhi’s senior official.

This warning comes at a time when the national capital is beginning to show signs of slowly recovering. The number of daily cases has dropped from the highest seen last month by more than 28,000 to less than 5,000 recorded on Tuesday.

South Asian countries, such as Singapore and Taiwan, have been hailed as success stories containing Covid-19, both setting aggressive barriers at home – and tightening their margins.

In Singapore, restaurants in restaurants have been banned and homework will become a thing of the past, as the city government re-imposed measures such as locks that last ordered last year. Seven schools will switch from home-based learning to a “fence” for those affected by the disease, as the state capital is developing immunization programs for those under 16 years of age.

Officials have urged Singaporeans to wear masks and to avoid activities that require “masks down,” such as eating and drinking with others for “three to six weeks”.

Singapore’s latest sanctions, announced on May 14, will remain in effect for one month, until June 13, according to the Department of Health. The country added that nearly 38 new local cases on Sunday during this week, 18 of which are currently linked to known collections.
