The new US President-elect Joe Biden on 22nd December, Tuesday gave the position of his long-time associate, a person who is Indian-American – Vinay Reddy as his speechwriter and another community member named Gautam Raghavan as a Deputy Director of the Office of Presidential Personnel., who has already served in the White House before.
The appointment of Reddy and Raghavan is done for the staff for the new transition. Along with that the announcement of other four other senior White House staff which are appointmented by Biden and the new Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
The other four people who were selected are Anne Filipic as Director of Management and Administration, Ryan Montoya for the position of Director of Scheduling and Advance, Bruce Reed as the Deputy Chief of Staff, and Elizabeth Wilkins for the Senior Advisor to the Chief of Staff.
Biden said in a statement that these experienced individuals are joining his administration in order to carry out policies that will help put their nation on a path to build up back in a better way than before.
The President elect said that the people who were selected are respected leaders whose values and priorities align with that of his own and who will dutifully give their best to their roles to serve the people of American. Their dedication and hard work to overcome the challenges that their country is facing are rooted in their diverse backgrounds and experiences. This will help to to deliver the change that America really needs during these difficult times.
Reddy serves the role of a speechwriter for the Biden – Harris Transition and he was also the Senior Advisor and Speechwriter for the campaign of Biden-Harris. Not only this but he has also previously served as chief speechwriter to former Vice President, after which, he also worked as the Vice President of Strategic Communications at the National Basketball Association.
Reddy was brought up and grew up in Dayton place of Ohio. Hw was the second one in their family with a total of three sons. HE went to Ohio public school from Kindergarten. After that he went to Miami University and then to The Ohio State University College of Law. Currently, he is loving in New York with his wife and their two daughters.
Whereas, Raghavan serves his duty as the Deputy Head of Presidential Appointments. Before joining this transition, he had also served as Chief of Staff to Indian-American Congresswoman whose name was Pramila Jayapal, she was the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
Raghavan has also did his job and served his post as an Advisor to the Biden Foundation, and also as the Vice President of Policy for the Gill Foundation, which is one of the oldest and largest private foundations runned by Bill and Melinda Gates and it is dedicated to the cause of LGBTQ equality.
During the administration of Obama, he also served in the White House as the liaison to the LGBTQ community as well as the Asian American & Pacific Islander community.
Raghavan was born in India, after that he was raised in Seattle. He had graduated from the Stanford University. He lives in Washington, D.C. right now with his wife and their daughter.
Harris said that their country is struggling with the pandemic right now, along with that also an economic crisis, a long-overdue reckoning on racial injustice which is going on, and a climate crisis which needs to be looked upon. She said that to meet these challenges, they will be needing a strong team that reflects the very best of their nation.
She further said that these public servants have the knowledge and experience which will help them to deliver on their commitment to build their country back better. And that she is looking forward to work with them to give in a brighter future for all the people of America.
