Bharuch MP – Mansukh Vasava no more a member of BJP

Mansukh Vasava who is one of the Senior BJP member and he is also the MP of Bharuch. He has now resigned from the party. He resigned on 29th December, Tuesday and he gave a reason for leaving saying that he left because of the personal health reasons. This happened just few days after he wrote to the Prime Minister asking for the withdrawal of a notification that has declared ‘eco- sensitive zone’ to 121 villages of Narmada district.

He had also expressed apprehension and also shown concern that the tribal population of that district can lose the employment opportunities because of the notification.

His resignation can adversely affect the fortunes of the BJP’s in the upcoming local body polls in the tribal belt. It is where the Bhartiya Janta Party of Chhotu and AIMIM have already struck an alliance. In his letter that he gave to Gujarat party chief CR Paatil, Vasava wrote that he thanks the BJP high command and also the party for giving him all that he could handle.

He said that he have always been loyal to the party always. He also said that he is a human being and that mistakes can happen. He further said that he have resigned from the party so that his mistake does not harm it. He also begs that the party forgives him and that he will meet the Speaker in person when the budget session happens and when he resigns from the Lok Sabha.

He have said that he have been a MP for BJP for six terms. He said that he is not upset with the party nor he is upset with the government, but he said that he is suffering from a severe pain in his back since some time and that he is unable to travel. He said this on 29th December, he also added that this is because of his ailment that he has not been able to attend the sessions of the Parliament anymore.

HE often took stands and had been a part of it which had put the state government in awkward situations. He also had publicly opposed the acquisition of land that was around the Statue of Unity, expelling the small shopkeepers who were along the Kevadiya main road and has even declared as eco-sensitive zone to the area that is around the statue. He had also raised his voice against the issue that was happening for the bogus tribal certificates and that the people were using it to secure the admissions and the government jobs for them.

Many of the office bearers have resigned in his support, including the president the secretary and also the other 27 members of the Sagbara unit of BJP in BJP’s Sagbara unit in Narmada. The cheif of the Party who is Paatil refused to confirm the news and he said that Mansukhbhai has not resigned yet and he said that he will resign during the budget session that will be held in Delhi.
