COVID-19 Instances Are On The Rise Every Day For The First Time In 239 Days

The rise of total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses provided in the country reached 155.28 crore on Thursday, according to the Union Health Ministry, with far more than 63 lakh doses delivered until 7 p.m. So far, more than 33,12,573 cautionary doses have been given to healthcare staff, frontline workers, and individuals over 60 with comorbidities.

The Rise on the Covid

Cases fueled by the Omicron version of COVID-19 spread only in metropolitan areas at first, as with every previous wave. However, in the last week, several rural and semi-rural areas have seen a substantial increase in illnesses.

At the beginning of this year, metropolitan centres like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata accounted for half of the cases. However, on Wednesday, the percentage had dropped to 35%.

The Govt Permitted

The Govt has permitted the activation of outpatient clinic for non-COVID patients due to the possibility of non-COVID patients being unable to access medical services in hospitals due to an increase in coronavirus infections.

On Thursday, the state administration issued an order directing telemedicine platforms to give remote medical support to those in need.According to statistics released on Friday by the Union Health Ministry, India recorded a single-day increase of 2,64,202 new highly pathogenic infections, the most in 239 days, bringing the total number of COVID-19 infections to 3,65,82,129, including 5,753 instances of the Omicron variety.

The Rise of Omicron Cases

Since Thursday, the number of Omicron cases has increased by 4.83 percent.The number of active cases has risen to 12,72,073, the highest rate in 220 days, while the number of deaths has risen to 4,85,350, with 315 new deaths, according to figures updated at 8 a.m.

In response to the escalating number of Covid instances in Delhi, the DDMA added offices of accounting professionals (CAs) and income tax practitioners to the list of ‘exempted categories’ authorised to function from their offices on Thursday.
