The Central Government, to the delight of its employees, will be given increased health benefits, travel allowances (TA), and pension benefits under the National Pension Scheme (NPS) and House Building Advance (HBA) benefits, according to a Zee Business report.

Upgrade to Travel Allowance

The government has increased the deadline for filing TA claims from 60 days to 180 days before the announcement of the DA and Dearness Relief (DR) increase was announced. Orders relating to promotions will take effect from June 15, which is the date of issue of the order.

The office memorandum stipulates that the extension of the deadline for the submission of TA applications on the travels of retired workers and their families to their villages or post-retirement residences as retired government officials face difficulties in seeking the rehabilitation of TA when they retire within 60 days to complete their journey.

Strengthening medical reimbursement

Workers at Navodaya Vidyalaya School (NVS) will receive a medical rebate, along with the DA, according to a statement issued by the union’s education department. NPS and pension benefits

According to Rule 10 of the Central Civil Services (Implementation of NPS) Rules, 2021, central government employees under the National Pension System (NPS) now have the right to receive benefits from the pension corpus placed under the old pension scheme (OPS) and -NPS in case they pass away. The HBA interest rate for employees is now at 7.90% from October 1, 2020 to March 31, 2022.
