Canada will sending Covid-19 relief supplies to India this week

An Armed Forces aircraft from Canada will depart on Wednesday during this week which will be carrying critical medication and ventilators to help India support the battle against the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.

The shipment 8 Wing / Canadian Forces base being transported by CC-150 Polaris aircraft from Trenton. It contains 50 ventilators as well as 25,000 pots of antiviral remedies veer.

The announcement came shortly after a virtual meeting between Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and his Canadian counterpart Mark Guernsey at the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in London. Although initially considered a bilateral figure, it was canceled due to the detection of Kovid-19 infection in the Indian delegation.

 Canada will also provide 350 ventilators, including a total of 50 ventilators, to respond to crisis situations across India, the country’s foreign minister said.

The Government of Canada is providing 1,450 oxygen concentrations immediately by UNICEF to support India through the epidemic response. In addition to donating $ 10 million to the Red Cross Society of Canada, it also supports the purchase of supplies and medicines for the Indian Red Cross Society.

Canadian Foreign Minister Mark Guernsey said Canada stands in solidarity with the Indian people. Everyone must work together in the global fight against this virus that is wreaking havoc around the world.

Those sentiments were echoed by Harjit Sajjan who is the minister of National Defence, as he said that the Covid-19 pandemic is a global challenge and has reminded the other countries around the world that they all are better off with each other’s help. He also said that that is why the Canadian Armed Forces will support and transfer supplies to their friends in India to help defeat Covid-19. He also said that throughout this pandemic and into the future, Canada will continue to be there for their allies in the Indo-Pacific region.

The province of Ontario is also sending near to about 3,000 ventilators to India, also another province Saskatchewan has announced that it will dispatch 100 ventilators. The province Premier said that the Saskatchewan has a close and growing friendship with India and so it is incumbent on them to assist them during this challenging time in their country.

Patty Hajdu who is the health minister of the country said that the Federal package were prepared after identifying the needs and requirements on the ground and how Canada can assist them in the best way possible, these requested medical supplies have been made available to help bring some relief to those affected by Covid-19 in India.
